SHATTERED is book 3 in the "LOST" series and frankly was a story that left me with mixed feelings. First of all I love Cynthia Eden, but I put off reading this one for so long because of two reasons. One, Jax seemed to really love Emma (heroine from Twisted) and two, I never connected much with Sarah and couldn't figure out what Jax saw in her. Well, I changed my opinion somewhere along the way and really ended up liking Sarah who was a strong and compassionate woman. Maybe I had too high of hopes for Jax though, because he just didn't live up to my expectations and wasn't nearly as "bad" as I'd anticipated.

The chemistry and passion between Jax and Sarah was smoking hot and very sexy, but I'd expect nothing less from Ms. Eden. I love a primal and possessive man, which Jax definitely was and there was never any doubt he wanted Sarah by his side forever. There was non-stop action and I loved seeing all the members of the L.O.S.T. team again, as well as their other halves, Eve and Emma, too. For some reason though, while I enjoyed the book when reading it, I never had a problem putting it down and picking it back up. In the end it took me a few days to finish instead my usual one, and felt like there was something missing...

With that being said, I've never found another author who creates such compelling villains. Sarah's father is a serial killer who in my opinion was the most complex and best character in the entire tale. Just as in "Die For Me" I was honestly shocked to find I was so intrigued by this monster and the fact that he could love one person (Sarah) so much and at all. Overall it was a dark and intense read and although it never completely drew me in, it was probably just my mood which is the reason I went with four stars instead of three. I'm still very much looking forward to "Torn" next though, which is Wade and Victoria's story.

Note: I also saw a number of typos, too many since it isn't even a self-published title. It's disappointing in Avon who needs to have someone proofread it and fix the many mistakes, which can be distracting and take you out of a story when they pop up.

Cynthia Eden pulled me in right away with her LOST series, but this particular story was something else! I loved the darkness within both Jax and Sarah, and how they understood each other and saw the light in one another. In the second book in the series, I continuously found myself smiling at the interactions between Jax and Sarah, so much so that the moment I had finished that book, I jumped right into this one and finished it within the same night.

This was an incredible story that continuously leaves you on the edge of your seat and craving more! As individuals, both Jax and Sarah were favorite characters of mine upon first meeting them, and when they came together? This book truly blew me away! Amazing romance, amazing mystery; I really hope that Sarah and Jax make an appearance in the final LOST book, which comes out at the end of the month.

While each story can be read as a standalone they are much better when read in order and each one is loosely tied to each other. The way the author is able to take the reader on a dark and twisted ride and have it end with a happily-ever-after is amazing. For those that enjoy Criminal Minds they will find these books a must read. Readers will be taken on a ride they will never forget with these books and the characters in them.
I'm absolutely addicted to this series! This is the third book, and it sucked me in just as quickly as the first two. Super sexy Jax caught my attention in the last book. I loved the way he nicknamed Sarah Pretty Sarah. Sarah had also pulled my heartstrings from the beginning, so her and Jax together seemed like a perfect fit to me.

Jax asks the LOST team for help unraveling the details of his past, but before they can even start working on his case, a young woman with ties to Sarah's past goes missing. LOST has to divert their resources toward locating her. From the beginning, it becomes obvious that Sarah could be in danger. Jax doesn't intend to leave her unprotected for even a minute. He inserts himself into the search as a way to watch over her, but as the case progresses, a killer begins taunting them. Not only does he want Sarah, but he has plans for Jax too.

This story had so much chemistry. This couple was completely breathtaking the way their darkness complemented each other. I tend to prefer my suspense with the mystery and action spread throughout the story rather than just concentrated at the end, and this fit that formula perfectly There were also a couple of plot turns which caught me by surprise in the best way. I love this author and this series!
